PRESS RELEASE: Tim Shaw Candidate For OC Supervisor Elected Mayor Of La Habra

(La Habra, California) Last Monday night City Council Member Tim Shaw of La Habra was voted in as Mayor for the coming year by his City Council colleagues. Tim Shaw is a candidate for the 4th District seat on the Orange County Board of Supervisors, to replace termed out Supervisor Shawn Nelson. He has been on the La Habra City Council for nine years and has served as Mayor previously in 2012. Mr. Shaw was surrounded by family, friends and supporters as he was sworn-in for his second stint as Mayor.
Mr. Shaw expressed his gratitude to his City Council Colleagues for their trust and support, “I want to thank my fellow City Council Members for having trust in my leadership abilities for the upcoming year. I am very grateful. There are many opportunities and challenges ahead for La Habra and I know that by working as a team to tackle those issues with the help of our residents we will have a great year.”
Mayor Shaw is the only Mayor in the field of candidates that have announced thus far in the 4th District race. As a long time local elected official Mr. Shaw has also amassed many local public officials’ endorsements of his campaign, which continues his campaign’s momentum. Along with serving as Mayor of La Habra, Mayor Shaw also serves on several important regional Boards of Directors, including: the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA), Orange County Sanitation District (OCSD), and the Association of California Cities-Orange County (ACCOC).
Mayor Pro Tem Tim Shaw works as the Director of Government Affairs for the Pacific West Association of REALTORS, as well as being an Adjunct Professor of American Government for 12 years. Married to Shannon, Tim is the proud father of five sons. Tim also attended local public schools in the Fourth District, where he and Shannon chose to raise their family.
